Established in the 1960’s, Clifton Billiards has stood the test of time as one of the region's oldest and best-known pool halls. Our friendly staff and upbeat atmosphere attract an amazing variety of people year round.

Clifton Billiards has over 6,000 square feet of playing space and features 16 Gold Crown I pool tables, two 42” plasma televisions, an Internet jukebox, arcade video games and a snack bar.  Three hundred and sixty-five days a year, seven days a week, the tables are open to first-come first-serve play.

Our hourly rates are among the lowest in the Northern NJ area. Discounts are available for students, police officers, firefighters, military personnel and seniors. Frequentplayers can really take advantage of our pre-paid player passes for even larger savings on daily, monthly and yearly play!

In the world of pool, there are all types of players with various levels of skill. For those who are new to the game of billiards or for those wishing to learn more about the game, individual and group lessons are offered by request. League and tournament play are also available on a weekly basis for all skill levels.

At Clifton Billiards, players don’t have to look far for the right billiard products.   We stock everything including pool cues, shafts, cue cases, instructional aides, care products and a myriad of additional accessories.  To ensure that our player’s investments remain at peak performance, our services even include cue repair, reconditioning and refinishing.

Challenge:
Established in the 1960's, Clifton Billiards has stood the test of time as one of the region's oldest and best known pool halls. When we acquired the business, it looked almost exactly like it did in the 1960's, with very little updates.  We wanted to majorly renovate the space, but we were faced with rising energy costs that were eating us alive.  It got to the point where our energy bills were 3X more than our rent.

Solution:
We decided to start small with our renovations and move to energy efficient lighting solutions to reduce the amount of electricity that we were using. We replaced outdated fixtures and bulbs with newer high efficiency rated products. Additionally, we modified the circuitry. The 6,000 square foot space features 17 pool tables and was lit in large sections. When one considers the fact that table play is individualized, this is extremely inefficient. We were practically lighting up the entire room when one pool table was in operation. With the new modifications, we are now able to light the tables and the sections of the room that are in use as opposed to the entire space. Saving us hundreds of dollars in electricity monthly. Our patrons have commented that they approve of the changes. The new lighting provides better table illumination and they feel that it contributes to better play. We are making our customers happy with "better" lighting over the tables while putting some money back into our pockets. Who can beat that?
